History is the flow of events through time. We believe that the study of historical events and developments offers a unique opportunity to see our world from a broader perspective. History offers multiple examples to analyse current events from a critical point of view. In understanding contemporary conflicts, diplomatic events, and political ideologies, the study of history is undoubtedly an added value.

 

That is why we believe that a research program on History is an excellent way to address questions such as globalisation and power relations. We want to promote debates beyond Western perspectives only. National and regional histories differ among each other, but also to give a better glimpse of the diversity characterising our world. We need to problematise history, ultimately maintaining attention on contemporary but especially future world issues.
