CYBERSECURITY

The Information Age has substantially altered our world. The rise of the Internet, social media, and networked technologies has made the cyberspace a globally critical policy and security domain. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased cybersecurity risks, putting cybercrime at the forefront of security policy priorities. The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), and the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution, are also changing the way we engage with information.

In this regard, we seek to develop a proactive understanding of cybersecurity. Our main goal is to increase awareness of cybersecurity risks and related questions to our growing audience. Indeed, cybersecurity also entails matters intrinsically linked to psychology and legal affairs. For instance, introducing to regulatory policies will demonstrate the importance of privacy and data protection for our societies.

The Varemeng cybersecurity research program is therefore aimed at generating avenues for thoughtprovoking views, challenging current assumptions about cybersecurity. We believe we are the first truly digital generation in history. It is therefore fundamental to attain a new understanding of the cyber domain to make a better use of inter-connected technologies.
